Visionary, Late Smt. Salaraben Sheth, founded A. K. Munshi Yojana in 1960, in the memory of her mother, Smt. Atilaxmi Kanhaiyalal Munshi, and nurtured it for the welfare of society - for the underpriviledged, especially for the empowerment of women, children and mentally challenged.
She was the eldest daughter of Kulpati Shri. Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi -an Educationist and the Founder of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan. She was also a Freedom-fighter and worked with Mahatma Gandhiji. Saralaben was the first Gujarati Lady Solicitor of India. As a Metropolitan Magistrate, when she saw the plight of delinquent children and mothers who were denied basic medicare even after Independence, she left her roaring practice as a Solicitor and dedicated herself to the cause.

A. K. Munshi Yojana
A.K. Munshi Yojana is a Voluntary Welfare Organization (NGO) celebrating its 57th Year of the service to the society and for the Welfare of the weaker section & under-privileged people at large through its various centers. Because of our yeoman service to Society, A. K. Munshi Yojana has been awarded a Special Consultative Status in Socio-Eco Council of UNO.
Bhanumati Medical Centre The 1st Centre started in 1960, and now has Dental, Allopathic Dispensary, Gynecology, Homeopathy, Dermatology, Pathology, Physiotherapy and Orthopedic facilities. All this under the care of excellent Doctors and at a very subsidized rate or free of charge. Tens of thousands of people take advantage of this centre every year. The Aim is a Healthy Mind in Healthy body.
J. T. Sheth Mandbuddhi Vikas Kendra (School) This gives formal Education and teaches the special children to live independently. They are also trained in Vocational Training Centre for their Rehabilitation. They are looked after for their medical, therapeutic, nutritional, educational needs and exposure to the world is given to bring out other talents for their all-round development.
